This book turns out to be quite an interesting read.
The plot has a few weak points, relying on things like amnesia and the characters’ inability to sit down and talk to one another with the truth, but overall, it was a good read.
There are indeed a few twists that I didn’t expect – mainly due to lack of clues – and I would recommend it to mystery/romance readers. It’s worth a shot.
I am interested in seeing other books by Lisa Jackson, though right now I have to admit I’m back up with books by my “usual” authors. Not to mention I’ve discovered the hilarity that is Terry Pratchett. However, that has nothing to do with the price of grapes in Rome.
Absolute Fear is a good mystery/thriller, and I would rate it close to being up there with one of my favorites, Iris Johansen. All in all, a good read, though I would warn that it’s intended for adult readers because some of the writing is a little explicit. (Note: Not explicit as in crotch novel romance, but explicit in that you wouldn’t want a kid reading about it.)
Out of 10, Absolute Fear gets a 5. It’s a good read.
