This next-to-most-recent-as-of-now book was wonderful…unlike my vocabulary.
As usual, Lynsay Sands has provided a realistic, witty, and interesting story with her Argeneau characters. It never ceases to amaze me that her take on “Vampires” is completely above, beyond, and against the typical myths that people all know about nowadays.
As this is later in the series, I don’t want to give anything away, but I will tell you that this is a wonderful series. All of her characters have heart, depth, and each plot has some real “meat” to it…
In other words, it’s not what a friend of mine typically calls a “crotch novel”. These are REAL fictional stories – as paradoxical as that sounds.
I immensely enjoy this series, as well as her historical romances – or at least the ones I can find – her website is also fun to take a look at and I highly recommend that you go out and buy the first book of this series NOW.
It’s AWESOME.

*As a side note, three of the books in the middle of this series were published by a different company so you may have to look at more than one place to find them all. For me, it was a combination of Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks/Borders, and Hastings.
I was a little disappointed in this story. It really was lovely on its own, but having read the Black Jewels Trilogy and Dreams Made Flesh had me spoiled. Anne Bishop is a fabulous writer, and I expected something with the same “oomph” in Tangled Webs.
All in all, I would still recommend reading the story, but I feel it necessary to caution: If you are a fan, don’t get your hopes too high. They story is still good, but it doesn’t live up to the complete awesome-ness of the rest of her books. Still, I’m happy to add it to my collection.
All said, if you pick this book up, enjoy!
This book is a real gem from the Argeneau series!
It goes like this:
"Wanted: Male vampire for attractive and self-supporting female vampire...Only real vampires need apply."
“Elvi” is a vampire living in a small town full of people who feel responsible for her current state. And her friends aim to see her happy and…well-fed.
Unfortunately, they aren’t supposed to know about here “state”. No one is. It is forbidden by the Council and now that they’ve caught wind of her, they’re sending someone in to investigate the circumstances.
Victor Argeneau is the investigator. Shocked, a little puzzled, and somewhat awed by the arrangement Elvi has, his job is to discover just what is going on! How many laws has she broken…and who’s out to kill her?
Fortunately, Victor has a little help. It seems that several other men are interested in Elvi’s future happiness…
The result is a great story.

If you’re interested in the series, look up Lynsay Sands online, or look for the first book “A Quick Bite” in the nearest book store.
