I really loved this book. With Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen just made my list o’ favorite authors. This was such an enjoyable read for me, and I love how sarcastic some of her characters can be. Mr. Bennet, for example, the father of the main character is constantly a source of amusement from the way he deals with his silly wife and youngest daughters, to how he handles the issues brought before him.
Elizabeth, the main character, is equally enjoyable. The actions of all of the characters in this book have been able to make me laugh, gasp, and turn pages with a ridiculous amount of anxiety or hope.
I was sad to see that it had gotten very unfavorable review from Charlotte Bronte, who is on the infamous list because of Jane Eyre. However, her opinion has not swayed mine. I would very, very highly recommend this book to anyone.
It has definitely earned its status as a classic!
