Another Dark-Hunter book, yay! I didn’t even know this was coming out, but I ran across in in the store the other day and I just about flipped. I love this series, as I have mentioned in previous entries, and this book was a wonderful addition. It was wonderful. There were also some wonderful additions in the back of the book that I think will prove interesting to later books. Of course, don’t jump ahead! There are spoilers in these short stories that may surprise or confuse you so make sure you’re caught up before you jump to the back of the book!
Another round of applause for Ms. Kenyon, folks! Her writing is amazing and wonderful.
The following is a review of the book The World is Flat, by Thomas L. Friedman. This review is based on the audiobook version.
This book has become one of the tentpoles of the “new” way of doing business, along with “The Tipping Point”, “Freakanomics”, and a few others. While I have generally liked the other two I’ve listed here, I did not find anything special about The World is Flat.

On a scale of one to ten, I’d have to give this book a three. However, that comes with a bias on my part. While this may be a wonderful book to some people – it made the bestsellers lists after all – it is extremely hard to get into. From what little I’ve read this book is very narrator focused, rather than narrative focused and I found that disappointed. This book did not meet my expectations, and from that viewpoint I would have to say I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends, but I couldn’t “disrecommend” it because different people have different tastes. Maybe you’d love it, but maybe you’d start developing ADD thoughts reading this. Personally, my mind drifts to everything but what’s on the page in front of me when I pick up this book.
Maybe it’s just a bad start, but I’m not willing to risk the mental flogging to try and find the good parts.
I would say that some people may find this book very entertaining, very “deep”…but it just doesn’t do anything for me.

If you’ve read this, and loved it, please comment. Tell us what’s good about it. I truly wish I could say this was a great book because I so rarely run across something I can’t stand. (That last time was in high school reading The Great Gatsby, which many people seem to adore…for reasons beyond my comprehension.)
